Family date night: Parade of Lights

Last Friday we braved the chilly Denver night to take Ever to her first Parade of Lights. It was freezing!!
I went to the parade with friends last year, with my belly still full of baby. I wrapped up in all the layers I had left that still fit me but last year’s chill was nothing compared to this year.
We bundled Everleigh up so tight she could barely move. Preston ended up wearing her in the Ergo underneath his many layers so she was snuggled in with only her head sticking out.
We were worried she’d be too cold, or hate the noise or be nervous of all the people but in fact, she loved it! She loved the music and bobbed up and down to the best of her ability.

When the parade was finished we decided to keep our family date night rocking and rolling by taking a stroll down 16th St to get some dinner. We passed the ice rink and watched the skaters, soaking in the Christmas spirit whilst Ever took a tiny nap, then went and stuffed our bellies at The Cheesecake Factory. Little lady charmed the socks off of everyone there and we had so many people approach us to tell us how cute she was.
Another memorable moment at TCF? Fried zucchini. So delicious.

As we wrapped up our date night, with a baby, at an hour that would horrify some people, snow began to fall. We walked back up 16th St to catch the light rail home, stopping to take pictures of Christmas lights and snow.

I love family date nights.
